19 November, 2009 - 4:05 PM by Gyro

The Bad: Too huge for casual gaming, Some graphical glitches, No multiplayer.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

30 June, 2009 - 6:45 PM by Maj
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a tie-in to the movie of the same name, but should not be dismissed quickly. Excellent voiceovers, solid multiplayer battles and action-packed campaigns for both factions make this a very impressive title, albeit a bit short and simplistic.

America's Army 3

24 June, 2009 - 1:21 AM by Angelof Dev
America's Army 3 is a military simulation game developed on the Unreal Engine 3 system, for the added visual realism. America's Army 3 aims to educate you about the US Army and its career opportunities and values... America's Army 3 uses real ballistics system, where the bullets actually originate at the barrel of the weapon, it's no longer a "laser beam" shot. The bullets travel is impeded by gravity after a certain distance...
The Good: It's Free, Good Visuals, Ballistics system.
The Bad: Small No. of online servers, bugs, slow stats tracking.

Platforms: PC only (Vista and XP)

Red Faction: Guerrilla

19 June, 2009 - 5:28 PM by Maj
Red Faction: Guerrilla is a third-person open-world action game set on a colonised Mars. It has a strong focus on destruction; the game engine allows for man-made objects to behave just like their real-world counterparts, featuring accurate physics and debris if damaged. There's a healthy load of weapons to help you and the Red Faction liberate Mars' six zones from the oppressive Earth Defense Force (EDF), but is a title let down by a number of aspects.

The Good: Great weapons, destruction is good fun and looks great, mechs and battle tanks
The Bad: Lack of depth, useless friendly AI, poor saving/loading times, long travel times
Platforms: PC, Xbox360, PS3

Verdict: Not a title worth owning, but have a go one rainy day to see the destruction.

The Bad: Targeting can be problematic, unbalanced difficulty leads to frustration

Platforms: PC, PS3, Xbox360

X-men origins: Wolverine

5 June, 2009 - 11:16 PM by Angel of Dev
X-men Origins: Wolverine doesn't disappoint in the brutality department. That said, it's too brutal, all you would expect from razor sharp claws hacking and slashing through human flesh in excellent graphics.

The Good: Graphics, Brutal action, Display of Wolverine's true power, Wolverine's skin regeneration.
The Bad: Boss fights, Repetitive and Easy.

Platforms: PC, Playstation 3, Xbox360, Playstation 2, PSP, Nintendo DS and Wii.

Terminator Salvation

5 June, 2009 - 4:45 PM by Angel of Dev
If you're after a game to get you psyched up for the Movie then this is it. Explosive fire fights behind cover make this game compelling. However the thrill is lost after a while, turning this game into a chore.

The Bad: Too short, Terminators often cheap kill, No online mode, Cannot pickup ammo while using cover.

Platforms: PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox360

Killing Floor

5 June, 2009 - 3:48 PM by Maj
Killing Floor is an FPS available through Steam for around US$20. It's good to play online with mates but is limited for solo play. There are six ranked classes to choose from; each rank increases the effectiveness of appropriate skills, so playing more of a particular class will get you to its 5th rank faster. There is also occasional slow-motion "ZEDtime", normally triggering off a stylish kill.

The Good: Solid co-op fun, ZEDtime, mindless zombie killing.
The Bad: Cheap dynamic lighting effects, limited solo play, lack of Australian servers.

Platforms: PC
Verdict: Definitely worth the price tag, download it from Steam but only if you know others who'll play too.
