Hotly anticipated action-RTS Starcraft 2 had it's official Australian midnight release last night. 2000 fans queued for ages at the EB Games launch and got to see a live show, among other things. It hasn't sold out yet, happily, so get buying!

EB Games is offering free shipping if you pre-order the next WoW expansion, Cataclysm, at the same time you buy SC2 for $98.

It's also at JB Hi-Fi for $69.

Yep that's right folks, Mafia 2 has hit Steam. Steam is offering two versions of the game, an original and a 'Digital Deluxe' edition which includes the Made Man Pack along with other items.

With every pre-order via Steam you get a free copy of 'Mafia' to keep you entertained till you wait to get your hands onto the sequel which releases 28 August 2010.

EA moves to tighten their gauntlet hold onto the RPG series. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is planned for release next year on the 3 major platforms, EA have gone all out for this game recruiting the fantasy writer R.A. Salvatore for the story.

Spawn creator Todd McFarlane will lend his artistic talents and Ken Rolston, the lead designer for the last 2 Elder Scrolls, will be the captain of this fine crew and ship, 38 Studios. This team plan to create a giant open-world single player RPG experience to rival most likely.. umm... their own Dragon Age 2.

Activision have released a Reveal trailer for their upcoming James Bond 007 game titled Blood Stone.

Blood Stone is being developed by the studio that brought us Project Gotham Racing games and the 3rd-person action shooter The Club.

Valve on Monday are planning to release, free of charge, Alien Swarm. A few years back Valve picked up some mod developers who have given us Left 4 Dead and Portal but now in their busy schedules they have found time to recreate this popular mod from UT2004...

If you've been hanging out to play the new Medal of Honor and own a copy of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 attached to your Steam client, then now's your chance to jump into the action. EA have extended access to allow BF:BC2 gamers to partake in the Medal of Honor beta. Just download the beta client and prepare for battle.

The news is accompanied by the unveiling of the limited edition version to hit shelves on release:
The Limited Edition version of Medal of Honor will grant players exclusive access to the MP7, a unique weapon utilized by Tier 1 Operators in the field. Limited Edition owners will also benefit from day-one access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns, while others must rank up to secure these weapon unlocks. Gamers can pre-order the Limited Edition now at www.medalofhonor.com at no additional cost.


PS3 gamers will also benefit from the inclusion of a special version of Medal of Honor: Frontline in their LE package. For Xbox 360 and PC gamers however, it doesn't sound so much like a limited edition as a repeat of the Bad Company 2 map pack fiasco to torment 2nd hame gamers.

Medal of Honor will hit store shelves on October 14th.
